INTRO
This is the second installment of a project that is likely to extend over a two-year-period from January, 2010.  It is the serialization of a book entitled “The 15% Solution: A Political History of American Fascism, 2001-2022.” Under the pseudonym Jonathan Westminster, it is purportedly published in the year 2048 on the 25th Anniversary of the Restoration of Constitutional Democracy in the Re-United States. It was actually published in 1996 by the Thomas Jefferson Press, located in Port Jefferson, NY. The copyright is held by the Press.  Herein you will find Chapter 1.

Steven Jonas’ revised edition of his classic, The 15% Solution, How the Republican Right Took Control of the US, 1981-2022, a futuristic novel outlining in detail how the Christian fundamentalist right could take over the reins of the US government has just entered main distribution through Amazon (US, France, Germany). The tip sheet reads:

Written as “true fiction” The 15% Solution focuses on the threat of fascism, “American style,” posed now by Christian fundamentalism operating within the confines of the Republican party. The book shows how theocratic authoritarianism can be gradually introduced into any country, even the “world’s greatest democracy,” behind a façade of Constitutional legality, no less. “To Empire, with Love”

Daniel Craig is the latest James Bond. But who does this durable agent truly serve?

It’s said there are few safer bets in Hollywood than a Bond film.The latest offering in the extremely lucrative Bond franchise – “Skyfall” – has already broken box-office records, taking some $87.8 million in its first weekend in the USA, and easily covering its $200 million production costs in the first two weeks. So far, the Eon Productions series has grossed $4,910,000,000 (over $12,360,000,000 when adjusted for inflation) worldwide, making it the second highest grossing film series after “Harry Potter”.

In a world in which active compassion for our fellow humans was the norm, would such extravagances be tolerated? A question at least worth asking. But I’ll leave it open. I’m going to tackle the simpler question as to whether anything of consequence lies below the surface of the seemingly harmless escapism of the 007 movies, and in particular “Skyfall”. Gaither Stewart’s espionage novel on Russian encirclement and US military bases on sale worldwide

NEW YORK LILY PAD ROLL, Gaither Stewart’s second volume in the EUROPE TRILOGY is now in wide distribution on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Powell’s, and scores of other vendors in Europe, North America and other regional markets. The current edition is only available in English, but discussions are being held with potential publishers in Argentina, Russia and China.  A French edition is also being planned.

The book has been warmly received by critics who compare it favorably with the works of Ludlum, le Carré and Greene, all masters of the political/espionage genre. Pad Roll develops further the materila first introduced

PLOT
